Mission Meals
Mission Meals is our joyful community outreach program—offering good food and genuine companionship to anyone who is hungry.
Every Thursday from 5–7pm, we serve a delicious three-course meal prepared by our wonderful Captain of the Kitchen and a team of remarkable volunteers. All the food is donated, and everyone is welcome at the table.
Most Thursdays you’ll also find fresh bread, fruit and vegetables, and even meat to take home.
If you’d like to volunteer, please get in touch with Rev Alex.
And if you’re hungry—just come along.
Kids are warmly welcomed too!
Emergency Food Relief
Thursdays 3–6pm & Fridays 3–6pm
Our Out-of-Hours Emergency Food Relief program provides practical support for anyone facing hunger outside normal service times.
With more people in our community experiencing housing insecurity and financial stress, we offer two afternoon sessions each week to make sure help is available when it’s needed most.
Building on the trusted relationships formed through our Mission Meals program, this service offers consistent, dignified, and reliable access to food. Each person can access a food parcel per month.
Thanks to donations from Uniting, The Little Things, Food Filled and many others -we can support anyone in urgent need.
Everyone is welcome. No one is forgotten.
Engagement Hub
The 101 Engagement Hub (previously 101 Drop In) is located on the St Kilda Uniting Church precinct on the corner of Chapel and Carlisle. The Hub operates weekdays from 9.00am to 2.30pm providing a range of programmes and support, including breakfast and lunch.
The Hub is well known for its approach where participants, staff and volunteers actively contribute to making the centre a place that is safe and where everyone is treated with kindness and respect. A publication describing the history of the ‘Hub’ is called ‘They Know my Name’ – the title captures the essence of this essential service that sits beside the St Kilda Town Hall.
Make & Mend
Every Wednesday 1-3pm in the meeting room of the Men’s Shed, next to the church in South Melbourne.
Make & Mend is a space to:
- mend or repurpose clothes and other items so they don’t go to landfill
- use the sewing machines
- learn and share skills around sewing, knitting, and other textile-related crafts
- work on a project in the company of other people
- make new friends
Make & Mend is not a repair café or a class.
Whatever your skill level – beginner, expert or somewhere in between – you are welcome!
